Send a full debug from the FS console when a call is placed. That should give more of a clue as to where the issue is.

But what does this error message mean? I started with the latest SVN version with standard setup, tried to do an internal call (all phones are behind NAT on different public IPs) and it failed. I cannot reach either of the phone, although "sofia status profile internal" shows me the correct registrations of the 3 phones. I grepped the network traffic and I can see that there is no outgoing traffic to the target phone during the time I dial. I can do outbound calls through a number of gateways though. Try updating to latest trunk and you will probably see user_not_registered instead. If you already are on latest it means you are asking for an invalid sofia profile. On Tue, Nov 11, 2008 at 9:35 AM, Brian West <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:

I have tried to raise this... so I have a request here for someone in the community to step up and either write us a new pastebin that doesn't suck or find me one that doesn't take 100 depends to install. So if you wish to help with the pastebin please email me off list. /b On Nov 11, 2008, at 5:07 PM, Michael Collins wrote:

it means your user is not registered. you are calling user/1001@freeswitch.my.domain.de and there is no user registered with that user@domain. On Tue, Nov 11, 2008 at 4:51 PM, peder@networkoblivion.com < peder@networkoblivion.com> wrote:

you are calling user/<user>@<domain> This is going to use the USER channel which does a lookup in your XML directory for <domain> the looks for <user> with the appropriate id within that domain. once it finds one it will try to fetch the param dial-string from <params> in <user> or <domain> (in that order) once it finds that it tries to call it. Clearly you have that misconfigured because it is not resolving it. That is why my previous suggestion was to try the default config to compare. mv /usr/local/freeswitch/conf /usr/local/freeswitch/conf.bak make install The sample config uses the ip of the box as the domain and offers user 1000-1016 or something like that all with pass 1234. Also, If you do not name your profile the same name as your domain or at least have an alias for the profile that is equal to your domain name you will not be able to use the user channel. You can always opt for the alternate method of sofia/<profile name>/user%<domain> On Tue, Nov 11, 2008 at 6:53 PM, Peter P GMX <Prometheus001@gmx.net> wrote:

Hello Anthony, I compared in detail a previous installaton with the current one and found out that * internal.xml had a missing entry for the domain (<profile name="internal" domain="$${domain}">) (is not in the default config file either) * there was no NAT configuration at all, so I copied the files from a previous installation I added the entries and now it works. Thank your for your support and best regards Peter Anthony Minessale schrieb:
