Strange sound hear between originate_retries
Hi all, Got a strange problem when using originate_retries, if the destination is busy/rejects the call there are 2 low pitched beeps heard, then FS will try dialling again and the normal ring-tone is heard. (these 2 beeps are heard between very retry) I have removed the sounds folder in case it was something in there, but it wasn't. I'm using r9959 - it also used to happen if the destination didn't answer, but since the update it doesn't seem to do it any more. Here is the dialplan I'm using: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <document type="freeswitch/xml"> <section name="dialplan" description="DialPlan"> <context name="public"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^(.+)$"> <action application="set" data="server_ip=$${local_ip_v4}"/> <action application="set" data="ignore_early_media=true"/> <action application="answer" /> <action application="set" data="progress_timeout=20"/> <!--<action application="set" data="call_timeout=20"/>--> <action application="set" data="originate_retries=3"/> <action application="set" data="originate_retry_sleep_ms=2000"/> <action application="set" data="ringback=${uk-ring}" /> <action application="set" data="ring_ready=true" /> <action application="bridge" data="sofia/internal/123456789@domain.com,sofia/internal/987654321@domain.com" /> </condition> </context> </section> </document> Any advice or feedback would be appreciated. Adnan

I've just tried increasing originate_retry_sleep_ms to 15000, and the 2 beeps is played just before attempting the destination again - if that's any help in finding the problem.

Hello All, Is it possible to send Freeswitch a dial command from an external source, like a c program or running daemon? Any API that exists outside of the standard dialplan? Best, Damon

Yes, using the event socket; http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_event_socket hads -- http://nicegear.co.nz VoIP, DVB and other Linux compatible hardware.

Just another little thought: with the event socket you can connect to FS and send pretty much any FS API command you want. You also can subscribe to events and receive all sorts of cool information about what's going on with FS. Note: there are blocking and non-blocking versions of the "api" command, so be sure you know which one you want to use! :) (HINT: api vs. bgapi) Enjoy! -MC
Thanks guys, That worked perfectly, I was even able to create a standard PHP socket. I knew that was what I was reading on the wiki ... I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Now I'm clarified .... Don't forget about XML RPC, it is not as sophisticated as event socket, but good enough for executing any fs commands. http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Freeswitch_XML-RPC Cheers, JK On Tue, Oct 14, 2008 at 12:01 PM, Damon Brown <damon@technicate.com> wrote:
