mod_xml_cdr with offline web server
Hello, I've been looking at using mod_xml_cdr posting to a web form. Question: what happens to freeswitch if the web server goes offline? Will calls still process? Thanks in advance, Max
Hello, Look at the wiki too! :)
From the wiki: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_xml_cdr#Configuration_Options
"log-http-and-disk: Default behaviour is to write either HTTP or Disk on HTTP failure. Setting this to true will write to both HTTP and Disk regardless (handy for realtime + reconciliation later if required)" -milena On Fri, Sep 24, 2010 at 12:04 PM, Max Clark <max@clarksys.com> wrote:

Yes! Freeswitch still processes calls (although the call is usually hung up at this point anyway). The behavior is somewhat configurable. You can have it try more than one web server, and if it doesn't get a response, it will write out the XML to a local file. I'm pretty sure that it will retry a few times as well. It seems to be a pretty good solution. -Tim Max Clark wrote:

Yes ... you'll want to create a directory and define it in the config as 'err-log-dir' this will log the failed CDRs to an XML file in that directory. You can then, when the server comes back online, resubmit these manually to your CDR script. More information, and an example curl script to post your CDR back to your server after it recovers is at; http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_xml_cdr Ross
