Callgroup intercept when using multiple FS Servers
Hello, I have a multi-tenant PBX setup with 2+ Freeswitch 1.4.x servers sharing the same PostgreSQL 9.3.x DB behind Kamailio for Round Robin LB generally working great however, there is an issue where Callgroup intercep <https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Callgroup_intercept>t '*8' feature only works if the call is on the same server that I am registered to. For example, if I am registered to Freeswitch-1 and the inbound call I am trying to pickup via *8 is on Freeswitch-2 then it doesn't work. Has anyone got any ideas or experience with this scenario? regards, Errol
You have to be on the same server to intercept the call. You'll need to have a way of knowing which server the call is on (eg shared database) and route the call between servers before intercepting the call on the second server. You can use X headers to pass information between the servers instructing them what to do. On 13 August 2014 13:16, Errol Samuels <ewsamuels@gmail.com> wrote:

Hello, I hope I have not misunderstood something in Steven's response but I am thinking that routing the ringing call between the 2 FS servers might not be very scalable since that might be adding extra load. Is there a possibility (however slight) of routing the actual call intercept *8 to the correct server where the ringing call is instead? I'm suggesting you bridge between servers in the extension handling *8, thus it's only done on intercept. You can then reduce load by using bypass_media so the RTP only goes between the client and ringing server, not through the one you do *8 on.
