FS hanging up call with reason UNKNOWN after 10 seconds
Hi, I'm experimenting with mod_fifo, I'm having a problem when I insert a consumer into the FIFO. The scenario is the following: . Consumer enters the FIFO with <action application="fifo" data="myFIFO out wait undef undef"/> . Caller enters the FIFO with <action application="fifo" data="myFIFO in undef undef"/> . The consumer and the caller are bridged. . The caller hangs up the call . The consumer reenters the FIFO. . After exactly 10 seconds the consumer channel is hung up by FS with reason UNKNOWN. If I configure music_on_hold the call is not hung. The issue is also present if I use "fifo_consumer_wrapup_key" and wait more than 10 seconds to press the key. It would seem that the problem is that sofia detects that I'm not sending any audio and hangs up. How can I avoid this? Thanks, Cesar Cepeda.
can you try trunk r9211 to make sure it's not fixed already and if not provide a console trace at debug log level into a jira ticket. On Wed, Jul 30, 2008 at 5:33 PM, Cesar Cepeda <cesar@auronix.com> wrote:

Jonahtan, I'm using an AudioCodes Gateway. I changed the parameter you mention and indeed the problem went away! Thanks a lot! :) What I don't understand is why the GW doesn't detects a broken connection the first time the consumer enters the fifo? Cesar Cepeda.

Cesar,
Just for reference: I read your mail after having randomly had a similar issue. In my case; any call I made to/received from the PSTN was dropping randomly.

It was hanging up with reason UNKNOWN (CS_EXCHANGE_MEDIA) and it turns out the magical 10 seconds came into play: The audiocodes gateway had a setting labelled "Disconnect on broken connection", I disabled it and the problem went away.

Seems to me, its just FS trying to be efficient about what it puts on the wire; the AudioCodes is trying to be stringent about broken connections; it just fails to deal with the comfort noise generation packets.. there may be more settings that would be valid here; but its 10 seconds of continuous silence from the remote end (ie. no RTP received for 10s). I'm not actually using FIFO btw, this is happening to me in legitimate calls whenever i stop talking for a duration. I've been meaning to backup my config, flatten the AudioCodes to defaults and then document the setup on the wiki; I just haven't had time. Maybe after ClueCon. -- Jonathan Towne
