You wil get that error if you hit a system thread limit or run out of memory. We generally recommend using a 64 bit cpu and os and the settings detailed: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Performance_testing_and_configurations Also, not that the default config has sessions per second limited at 30. If you remind me where in the configs to change the max sessions per sec I will update the performance testing wiki page. -MC Sent from my iPhone On Jul 20, 2008, at 8:28 AM, Michael Jerris <mike@jerris.com> wrote:

switch.conf.xml has all those settings. I don't think most of those settings are documented. /b On Jul 20, 2008, at 1:06 PM, Michael S Collins wrote:

Hi We set max-sessions to 2000 and sessions-per-second to 2000. When running sipp with limit of 1000 calls and 50 calls/s, Freeswitch still responses with SIP/2.0 503 Maximum Calls In Progress. Is there more config change we should do? Thanks, JB
Have you applied the settings here: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Performance_testing_and_configurations - without these, you'll likely run out of file handles, RAM, etc. at < 200 simultaneous calls. --Dave
