Can FS benefit from multicores processor Linux?
Hi, I need help in best practice using FS. My question is single installation box of FS can gain benefit from the multicore processor and huge memory? Like the performance and capacity of FS will increase from 1 core to 4 cores or even 16 cores? Or if not, can we still gain benefit by using multple VM (each 1 core) in one box? We are talking in Linux of course, using Ubuntu or CentOS. Of cource I am not asking for maximum capacity, because it will be vary between implementation and I know we all hate that question (because what follow after that :) ). Thanks, Donny
Yes FreeSWITCH is multithreaded and as such will use all available CPUs. On 9 February 2014 10:37, Donny Hardyanto <hardyanto.donny@gmail.com> wrote:

FreeSWITCH is highly multi-threaded... The more cores the better... 24 core box works better then a 16 core box etc.... On 2/9/14 4:37 AM, "Donny Hardyanto" <hardyanto.donny@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi, yes you can increase the number of handled sessions of a FreeSWITCH box increasing the number of cores. When the number of cores is high (i.e. 24 or more) you have also to pay attention to the power of single core: if the network adapter distributes the interrupts among few cores, these can be overloaded (as the attached image). You have to chose the nic adapter based on how good is in a multicore environment (i.e. support of coalescence and PCI MSI-X).
