Hi what do u suggest for this scenario: I want to be able to listen to calls from a web page. so there should be a streaming server to place a call to freeswitch(on dialplan there should be an extension which matches this call and uses eavesdropping for requested channel) and stream the incoming media from freeswitch to client browser. browser -> media server(sip) <--> freeswitch I think the main problem is media server! thanx
Use uuid_record and record to an icecast server: shout://icecastserver:port/{uuid} Then use a flash player like jwplayer to play the stream. Pretty simple. On Thu, Jul 15, 2010 at 4:04 AM, babak yakhchali <babak.freeswitch@gmail.com

look for telecast.
FYI,
Our google search on the wiki for "telecast" failed to yield results. (I think this is because the word 'telecast' did not appear in the body text anywhere on the page, only in a heading and in a URL example. I've added the word to the body text and when goog reindexes I will see what happens.) Check this out: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Webapi#Telecast -MC
Thank u all for your useful answers. I tried uuid_record, icecast and shout and it works but there is a problem; when any error occurs in shout, call is ended disgracefully. Is it normal or there is something wrong in my configuration? for example when icecast is not available or credentials are wrong thanx
I believe this has been discussed before that errors in recording result in call teardown. This is not shout specific. ... looking in code... Set the channel var: RECORD_HANGUP_ON_ERROR to false and it won't hangup on error. On Sat, Jul 17, 2010 at 5:59 AM, babak yakhchali <babak.freeswitch@gmail.com

Could you please post your relevant configs? I would like to get a working example on the wiki. -MC Sent from my iPhone On Jul 17, 2010, at 3:59 AM, babak yakhchali <babak.freeswitch@gmail.com> wrote:

You can even record in stereo with each person in their own channel. /b On Jul 20, 2010, at 10:47 AM, Rupa Schomaker wrote:

should I call uuid_record [uuid] stop shout://source:hackme@myip:8000/test.mp3 or when the call is hanged up record automatically stops? when I test it it seems after hangup channels are alive
If the call is part of a conference and you want to listen to the conference, you should be able to the same thing by recording the conference to an icecast server. As I noted in another recent post, I think that you need a bridge (conference) to connect two channels so that you are in a conference. No one has contradicted me on this yet. I think this would not interfere with any automatic recording of the conference if you used a control language such as JS or LUA to control this capability. I cannot be 100% certain that two recordings can be simultaneously attached to a conference without testing it or getting some assurance from someone who knows. -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/eavesdroping-tp5296543p5298076... if he just wants to listen to a shoutcast recording of an in-flight call, there is no need for a conference or eavesdrop. uuid_record to shoutcast is sufficient. If he wants to talk on the call... well, shoutcast won't be good 'cause that is one way. he would need a real sip client and then eavesdrop would be the "right" way IMO or a conference... They can all be pushed to a conference on-demand if necessary. On Thu, Jul 15, 2010 at 10:50 AM, David Swardstrom < dswardstrom@remotelink.com> wrote:
