Skype for SIP - No SILK support, yet...
I was thrilled when mod_silk was released... but my joy was short lived when I got this reply from Skype about SILK support on their "Skype for SIP beta". "We have double checked this with Skype for SIP developers. They said that at the moment SILK codecs are not yet supported, even though we have information about this on the web site. Most probably SILK codecs will be supported when Skype for SIP goes out from beta stage." Just wanted to share to avoid frustration for other FreeSWITCHers. Chris.
I think when you have millions of users they need more attention before to release anything. I know a guy who works for google chrome project he said every bug there are 40 millions people who are waiting to test new version... so it's better to be sure that the bug is well corrected... ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian West To: freeswitch-users@lists.freeswitch.org Sent: Wednesday, March 17, 2010 11:56 AM Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] Skype for SIP - No SILK support, yet... Thats funny their own internal team doesn't implement the codec as quickly as we did? har har har /b On Mar 17, 2010, at 10:53 AM, Chris Fowler wrote: Just wanted to share to avoid frustration for other FreeSWITCHers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ FreeSWITCH-users mailing list FreeSWITCH-users@lists.freeswitch.org http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-users UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-users http://www.freeswitch.org
Wish our FreeSWITCH users would do the same. Seems we are close to a release and a flood of bugs come in. :P /b On Mar 17, 2010, at 11:29 AM, Madovsky wrote:

I just updated our code and module to the official release source from Skype. They did make a few modifications. /b On Mar 17, 2010, at 10:53 AM, Chris Fowler wrote:
