Every so often (and I've been paying attention to it closer lately), "sofia status" in fs_cli reports something similar to this: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/21171 If you look at the external profile's port number, it's the wrong one. It should be 5080. But this does not just happen on the external profile, it happens occasionally ON EVERY profile. Sometimes a few of the profiles have this affliction at the same time. This happens when mod_sofia or freeswitch itself is reloaded. If I'm not careful (i.e. I leave it this way), phones do not register, no one can answer important phone calls, the world crashes, etc. The bad thing about this is that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change it manually. Everything is set correctly in vars.xml and the profiles as far as ports go (internal uses 5060, doublenat uses 5090, external uses 5080). Sometimes I restart freeswitch and get lucky, but most of the time no dice. Does anyone have any idea on this? freeswitch@internal> version FreeSWITCH Version 1.2.8+git~20130503T183844Z~65f0d16dee (git 65f0d16 2013-05-03 18:38:44Z) Thank you, Brian Foster Project Manager/Owner's Representative Davri Investments, Incorporated P: +1-317-787-2686 M: +1-317-600-9753 Indianapolis, Indiana

When its wrong is it always the same one or is it random? My wild guess was maybe it was busy from not shutting down all the way so sofia picked a free one instead. We do set the REUSEADDR flag so it should not actually happen. On Wed, Jul 10, 2013 at 5:38 PM, Brian Foster <bdfoster@davri.com> wrote:

Virtualbox (ugly I know, but not my choice unfortunately). This morning when I started it up, it did get the correct port numbers. I left freeswitch off overnight (but left the machine on). To answer Tony's question earlier (sorry, must have missed your message), it's a random port, never the same one. Seems to always pick one in the 1000-1999 range though. This particular one is a low-volume virtual machine. Maybe 1-2 calls at any given moment. Host is a dual core intel xeon 5150 with 9 GB of RAM.

Just a heads up, we're still dealing with this problem. Should this be on JIRA? The only way I can get around this is to fire up the backup server (which I installed last night) but it's not ideal.
BKW, why do you have your client set to Portuguese? Lol

FWIW, I ran into a somewhat similar problem a few months ago, after setting up a new box. After a lot of head scratching and re-checking all my settings, I finally noticed that I had forgotten to remove the <!-- from the xml tags when editing the new config files. <head slap!> I doubt if this is your problem, but I figure it can't hurt to double-check.
