Cannot Initialize [[error near line 1621]: missing >]
My system is Kubuntu 7.10 I downloaded an compiled (without errors) freeswitch-1.0.rc1 (There was an earlier version installed before I compiled this one. There I got the same error as what I got now. That was actually the reason for the new install. but the error remains, also after the new install) When I want to start FS I get following error: henkoegema@kubuntu:/usr/local/freeswitch/bin$ sudo ./freeswitch Error including /usr/local/freeswitch/conf/dialplan/extensions/*.xml Cannot Initialize [[error near line 1621]: missing >] <------------ :( In which file does the error occur ? Rgds Henk
You have to ask yourself... What did I just edit? Because you're missing a ">" you can ignore the line "Error including /usr/local/freeswitch/conf/ dialplan/extensions/*.xml" You have changed something and didn't close a tag. /b On Mar 21, 2008, at 3:07 PM, Henk Oegema wrote:

Guys correct me if I am wrong here but, another tip for resolving this problem can by looking in the file: /usr/local/freeswitch/log/freeswitch.xml.fsxml (this is the compiled version of all the files, this may contain your error... on the line mentioned) Cheers, Chris Henk Oegema wrote:

Henk, Did you happen to change or add to any of the XML files in conf/dialplan/extensions/ ? That would be the first place to look. If that doesn't work you can always clean out conf/dialplan/extensions and make samples from the install directory: cd /usr/local/freeswitch/conf/dialplan/extensions rm -f *xml cd /your/fs/src/directory make samples If *that* doesn't work then possibly there's a booger in one of the XML files somewhere. Depending on your XML skills you may want to hunt down the booger, or you can wipe the /usr/local/freeswitch directory and sub dirs and then download and install from scratch again. Hopefully remaking the samples will solve your problem... -MC

Install xmllint, then just run it on the dir. and it'll tell you which is at fault :) -- Regards, Jay Fenton <jay.fenton@howlertech.com> CTO, Howler Technologies Ltd t: +44 (0)207 099 7095 f: +44 (0)207 099 7098 Registered in England & Wales, Company No. 06285634
