I tried putting in what I thought was my Server IP Address and it doesn't seem to work with my softphone. I am curious, how does one find their Server IP Address? Peter

Are you using a distro like Trixswitch or FusionPBX? If not, check your firewall settings and make sure that both ports 5080 is open on the external side and port 5060 on the internal side, both UDP. On Sun, Sep 26, 2010 at 4:49 PM, mazilo <Nabble@slickdeals.endjunk.com> wrote:

Looks like I have the right IP Address, so I am assuming it's an issue with the port. I am working with OS X 10.6.4, should I do this on the computer or should I do this on the router? If on the router, what's the port range? I managed to do a port scan and found 5080 is open, but I couldn't find anything on 5060. Is there a difference on how you enable your ports when it comes to internal vs external? Where would I find info on how to set that up? Thanks again for your help. I tested connecting on an iPhone using Bria, from Counterpath. I tried a different IP and it gave me the 408 message. I then tried the IP I originally thought it was suppose to be and now it's saying that I have the username and password incorrect. I am using 1000 and 1234 (respectively), am I wrong? Try calling 9664 (MOH) since that will play continuously. This line suggests that the tone_stream on 9198 failed some how: 2010-09-27 15:03:59.172658 [NOTICE] switch_core_state_machine.c:185 sofia/external/1100@192.168.1.100 has executed the last dialplan instruction, hanging up. Be sure to turn on debug level ouput. (in fs_cli it's automatic, but if you are at the actual fs console then do "console loglevel 7"). Also, turn on SIP trace: "sofia profile internal siptrace on". (Replace 'internal' with the name of your profile if you are using a different profile name. Yes, I have the FS book and I am on chapter 4 "SIP and the User Directory". The exercise walks you through developing your own account and it tells you to use "1100". I am still curious as to why it won't complete the call. When I call on Bria, on my iPhone, it says "Temporarily Unavailable (480)". I just wish there was something to stand out as a "oh, that's what I need to fix". :-\ Peter On Mon, Sep 27, 2010 at 9:10 PM, Michael Collins <msc@freeswitch.org> wrote:
Peter,
As best I can tell you are trying to register a phone on port 5080, and you are trying user 1100. Did you create a user 1100 in the user directory? -MC

I am not sure if I did this correctly, but I wasn't sure what was suppose to be put in place of "internal", so I tried "internal" and I got an error message. I tried "external" and that seemed to trigger it. This was the response: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/14040 Anyway, I hope this is the information you were talking about.

Try calling 9664 (MOH) since that will play continuously. This line suggests that the tone_stream on 9198 failed some how:

Be sure to turn on debug level ouput. (in fs_cli it's automatic, but if you are at the actual fs console then do "console loglevel 7"). Also, turn on SIP trace: "sofia profile internal siptrace on". (Replace 'internal' with the name of your profile if you are using a different profile name.
Pastebin the results (pastebin.freeswitch.org) and paste the link in this thread so we can take a look. -MC

okay, I also tried connecting with X-Lite from Counterpath and I got it to connect, so I am assuming ports are open. I can see in my terminal that FS is responding to the calls that I am placing (dialing 9198 and 9196). However, I get an error on the side of X-Flite and in the terminal, this is the message that comes up:

What does this mean?

I then tried the IP I originally thought it was suppose to be and now it's saying that I have the username and password incorrect. I am using 1000 and 1234 (respectively), am I wrong? I so, how can I set this up?

Are you using a distro like Trixswitch or FusionPBX? If not, check your firewall settings and make sure that both ports 5080 is open on the external side and port 5060 on the internal side, both UDP.

You shouldn't be hitting port 5080 when you register or invite. That profile is 'external' by name only... it doesn't have auth enabled and hits the public context. /b On Sep 27, 2010, at 11:47 PM, Peter Schrock wrote:
