I have the following A core PBX that controls call flows and selects an end target. The core PBX hairpins the calls through a Freeswitch instance that for example records the calls. The targets use REFER messages to transfer calls between each other & third parties. Is it possible to configure the service freeswitch instance to proxy the REFER messages back to the core PBX and not convert them into an INVITE? So that the message flow looks like the attached picture. The Refer message needs to be proxied in order to tear down the hairpin as the calls are transferred. I don't think it is possible currently. I would also like that feature however, but it is something that I have on my todo-list ... If you have a solution, I would however be happy to hear about it. Kind regards, Michel On Tue, May 13, 2014 at 6:29 PM, Gareth Rylance <gareth@rylance.me.uk>wrote:

I was thinking of using the deflect application to try and fake the proxying at the dial plan level. I will give it a go and let you know. If it is generally useful I could look at adding a bounty for it. Gareth On 13 May 2014 20:54, "Michel Brabants" <michel.brabants@gmail.com> wrote:

We are acting as a nearly proxy. We want to look like a proxy by not really effecting the signalling but apply alter the media stream. Gareth On 15 May 2014 13:58, Brian West <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:

It's perfectly imaginable that a B2BUA could B2B a REFER request in the same way the bridge app B2Bs an INVITE. On 15 May 2014 15:07, Gareth Rylance <gareth@rylance.me.uk> wrote:

What sort of other other features? I am think of adding a bounty and would appreciate any ideas/help in specifying how it may work? Thanks gareth On 16 May 2014 15:47, "Brian West" <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:

I think it's close. Looking at http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5853 I think FS ticks the boxes for functional requirements. The one thing I'm not clear about is where in the lifecycle of a SIP session FS creates a new channel and thread. Is this early on making it vulnerable to resource exhaustion / DoS attacks, or is it post authentication? For this and other reason I think FS + Kamailio the best SBC you could have. Kamailio adds things like pike rate limiting, SIP fixups / NDLB that FS doesn't do out the box, and horizontal scaling to multi-FS boxes.
