In fs_cli, would be cool to have cisco-like extensions to support include/exclude/begin: show channels | include regex show channels | exclude regex show channels | begin regex It's obviously not always going to generate useful output (particularly since it will usually strip header), but can be very helpful when doing interactive diagnostics. http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/fundamentals/configuration/... -- Nathan ------------------------------------------------------------ Nathan Neulinger nneul@mst.edu Missouri S&T Information Technology (573) 612-1412 System Administrator - Architect

If anything the ability to pipe through external tools like grep from within a fs_cli session could be useful - it'd minimise the work required to implement it. Kind of like the pager command in the mysql cli. Building such functionality into fs_cli or mod_event_socket directly doesn't make sense when it already exists elsewhere though. Of course the pipe character would be a bad choice, as it'd interact with dialstrings badly. On 26 August 2014 09:00, Steven Ayre <steveayre@gmail.com> wrote:

This would be fairly easy to implement into https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Fs_logger.pl and functionality could be similar to mysql (pager command to turn it on and nopager to turn it off). fs_logger.pl does input parsing and could easily pipe the output through a third party program. There is a limitation to using fs_logger.pl to do so: It doesn't know when a command finishes, it grabs blocks of output in 2048 char segments in a non blocking manner. This could theoretically mean the output of a command could be past to the pager over multiple calls (rather than a single call that I believe mysql uses). ~Mitch On Tue, Aug 26, 2014 at 2:16 AM, Steven Ayre <steveayre@gmail.com> wrote:
