hi. the last days I've tried to get BLF working with freeswitch, but even I found many places, that freeswitch would support it and how to activate the feature on certain phones, there doesn't seem to be any information on how to activate/configurate this in freeswitch itself. first try was using event_socket and "sendevent", but even I can send message_waiting-events and simple messages, sofia prevents manually created notify-events from getting on to net. (code expect a Subscription-State-Tag, which can't be generated this way) (I posted a msg here some hours ago, but it doesn't get back and maybe it was thrown away due to any circumstances. but never mind) wiki-page of dp_tools-cmd "presence" says, that it only creates an event, but doesn't affect the state itself. but how I can create NOTIFY-Messages about ringing or busy-line in freeswitch, when I've no way to create such a message? Do I have to create the pure UDP-Blob on myself and put it on the net? can't believe that... so, any concrete help would be appreciated: where in dialplan/config should which be put, that this will work at all and how the notify-msgs have to be created? w.
You don't have to manually send any of those, simply make sure manage-presence is enabled on the profile. On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, wiebittewas <wiebittewas@googlemail.com> wrote:

Actually I am facing the similar problem. I am using kamailio fronting the freeswitch and kamailio is taking care of user registrations. I have enable manage-presence but that is not working. I am using freeswitch 1.4.18 on ubuntu. On Tue, Jun 2, 2015 at 4:17 PM, Michael Jerris <mike@jerris.com> wrote:

thanks for replying. unfortunately it doesn't seem to be as easy. relevant parms in internal profile are: <param name="manage-presence" value="true"/> <param name="presence-hosts" value="$${domain},$${listen_ip_v4}"/> <param name="presence-privacy" value="$${presence_privacy}"/> presence_privacy is set to false in vars.xml calling from one phone to another one doesn't lead to any msgs on the net to the subcribed phones. any further relevant entries which have to be set? w.

well, as I told before, that was already set. meanwhile the BLF runs somehow. the problem seemed to be that the server-part wasn't the same on all phones due to used cnames. but there seems to be another problem, but for that I'll create a new thread. regards w.
