Park an incoming call without answering it?
Hi, Is it possible to somehow park or just make the call wait on the system without bridging it or answering it. I would like the outside party to still be in ringing state so I can the pick it up. Need something like a virtual ringing destination but cannot see how to implement? Any ideas Many thanks Chris
Parking incoming call without actually answering it at all seems doubtful. But if your phone can transfer call to an extension without going off-hook then that particular extension can be configured in dialplan to answer call and park it. Regards, Eugene On 22/02/12 11:59, Chris Martineau wrote:

You are not going to get very far doing this. 1. You would run afoul of billing (your provider would not be happy) which goes into the next point 2. Your provider will probably have a cap as to the length of time you can keep a channel unanswered (in 183 state) and pass early media. How long is the calling party to stay in a ringing state? All I can think of at this point is to throw your caller into mod_fifo and keep them in a queue until you are ready to take the call. Anthony C. Hi, The service is purely user to user so no billing issues, with the user being in the 183 state for no longer than a minute at most. The mod_fifo looks somewhat overkill for what I need.
