Hi, i guess I just need Fs to detect this "event" and send it to alarm device. Now it is like this: alarm device sends alarm event (call) to alarm center, when data is transmitted alarm center sends "kiss off" which alarm device must receive. As alarm device does not receive it, it is resending a call/event to infinity. Miha On Fri, 26 Apr 2013 15:47:57 +0200 François <fdelawarde@wirelessmundi.com> wrote:

Hi Miha, How are you trying to detect the alarm signal? Spandsp implements the Ademco protocol you need for these alarms, but so far nobody has added code to mod_spandsp to be able to access that functionality. Steve On 04/27/2013 02:26 AM, Miha wrote:

Hi Steve, thank you for your help! I was trying to use <action application="start_tone_detect" data="1"/> and changing frequencity in spandsp module. I am first time dealing with this module so I am not realy experianced about it. As I have written earlier problem is that alarm device does not recive "kiss off" so it it sending event to infinity (to alarm system). I was trying with few fax option, changing UAC and etc but with not luck. Than I found this link: https://github.com/FreeSWITCH/FreeSWITCH/blob/master/libs/spandsp/src/ademco... which is regaring ademco device (alarm device is ademco). SO i would need to implelemt this code in mod_spandsp and compile it again or is there any other option? If I need to add this code to mod_spands and will kindly ask you for some help:) Thanks! Speaking of alarm systems over VoIP, here's a story of an alarm company that was sued by the estate of a murdered woman because her alarm system failed to notify the central station when the attacker broke in. It turns out she had switched to VoIP a few weeks earlier, which caused problems: http://www.security.honeywell.com/hsc/documents/alarmorg_VoIP.pdf Here's something from an alarm company: http://www.thealarmcompany.com/files/voip%281%29.pdf And from another alarm company: http://bentleyalarm.com/why-voip-is-bad-for-your-alarm-system/ Bottom line: I'd think really hard before switching an alarm system to VoIP. When we switched the company to VoIP, I was able to get a very inexpensive measured line for our alarm system. (We also use it for incoming FAX, because it works.) -- Steve
If its that critical cellular is the only way to go. You can also use this on T1 lines to receive from pstn lines. So it's not VoIP. Sent from my iPhone On Apr 29, 2013, at 1:15 PM, Steven Schoch <schoch+freeswitch.org@xwin32.com> wrote:

The commonest alarm protocol is Ademco Contact ID and it variants. This is very undemanding of the channel, and it would take a pretty broken VoIP connection to stop them working. VoIP channels tend to fail for alarms when people ignore the fact that VoIP usually uses mains powered terminals, with no battery backup. A simple power outage means no 911/999/112/whatever calls, and no alarm protocols. That's the real weakness. Steve On 04/30/2013 02:15 AM, Steven Schoch wrote:
