Hi. I am getting a strange (to me) error message when I try to make an outgoing call using flowroute -- which is one of the itsp's I use. Here is the messages I am getting: 2010-09-03 10:59:47.525764 [CRIT] switch_channel.c:915 Invalid data (${local_media_ip} contains a variable) 2010-09-03 10:59:47.525764 [CRIT] switch_channel.c:915 Invalid data (${sip_local_sdp_str} contains a variable) What the heck do these mean and what can I do to fix? Thanks in advance for any ideas. -- Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is: How do you spend it? John Covici covici@ccs.covici.com
Hello John This is not nearly enough info. I am using flowroute with out any troubles. Make sure if your fs box is behind nat that you are using the external profile as it comes mostly out of the box for it has the things required to do nat traversal. Make sure that ext_sip_ip and ext_rtp_ip are set. Check each of your profiles with 'sofia status profile internal' and 'sofia status profile external' to make sure that the IP's that they are bound to are correct. Those are just a few places to look first. Like I said at first, there's not nearly enough info here to get an idea of what's going on. --FC On Sep 3, 2010, at 6:29 PM, covici@ccs.covici.com wrote:

The problem was a missing right brace that fs didn't catch. Do you like FS better than asterisk? Frank Carmickle <frank@carmickle.com> wrote:

I think of asterisk much more like two cans and a string at this point, so yes I like freeswitch better than asterisk. Ipv6 zrtp tls/srtp celt 48k, lua/python/perl/javascript for call control, and most importantly the developers actually give a crap if fs is working correctly. --FC

However, there is not yet a decent front end gui for it, so it might be nice for me, but for those people where I wantto install a pbx, asterisk is till what I need to use. A;lso, 1.8 looks like it has some of the features you mentioned. I really do like fs, although like anything else, there is quite a learning curve. -- Your life is like a penny.
