I just made fs successfully registering to vonage with softphone account. a sip trace could be helpfull, try enable it with 'export TPORT_LOG=1' before starting fs. On 7/22/07, Robert La Ferla <robertlaferla@comcast.net> wrote:

BV *requires* that the 'From' user in SIP be your phone number. If it isnt they wont auth the call. As for your error it said "[DNS Error] session: n/a" sip.broadvoice.com is an alias that BV changes *at*will* to any of their proxies. What you really should do is ping their proxies and find the best one to you, they are all the format of sip.XXX.broadvoice.com where XXX is a 3 letered city abbreviation. It also appears that they have done away with nyc, lab (boston), mia, lax and only chicago remains. Odd... I would however investigate that dns error first. The TPORT_LOG=1 suggestion is also a good one. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel Belfast +44 28 9099 6461 US +1 516 687 5200 http://www.trxtel.com the phone company that pays you!

There was a discussion about Broadvoice on this list back in April but there was no solution posted. Has anyone gotten it to work? The DNS error was also mentioned in that thread but it was because the system couldn't resolve BroadWorks. The host sip.broadvoice.com is indeed an alias to the server closest to me. This works fine under Asterisk so I believe that it is not where the problem is. As to the "From" user, are you referring to the "from-domain" parameter in sofia.conf.xml?
I don't think anyone provided us an account we could use to make it work. /b On Jul 24, 2007, at 10:53 PM, Robert La Ferla wrote:

I wonder if it would be advantageous to create a list within the wiki of ISPs that we know work with FreeSwitch? About three months ago I started using FreeSwitch and was overwhelmed by the simple decision of which ISP to start with. After reading an older thread within this list regarding the Broadvoice configuration issue I decided to try Vonics. With Vonics the setup and configuration was a cakewalk. Kind Regards, Chris

I just realized that I need a cup of coffee. Mistaking ISP for a phone provider. I went ahead and started a new entry within the wiki. http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Tested_Phone_Providers_Listing Regards, Chris

Jason, Catch me online sometime later this week and I can take a look and see what we can get working. As I said, I think we did get it working with a broadvoice account, but it required some weird settings and it appears no on documented what they were. Along with getting these settings for different providers on the wiki, it would also be nice to get the providers to also publish sample configurations for freeswitch on their sites, or perhaps in the sample config files. If anyone has any providers they have working that are not on the wiki, could you please add them? Mike On 7/25/07 1:07 PM, "Jason Garland" <jgarland@gmail.com> wrote:

If someone provides me with the settings, I'd be more than happy to update the wiki or write a tutorial.

I am willing to donate an account. I did read that BroadVoice has a 30-day money back guarantee so that can be used too. Please contact me to get started...
