Hi All, How to build a dial plan for paging for groups of AASTRA phones. Here is my environment setup. FreeSWITCH on a Public IP address. All the AASTRA phones behind the Linksys WRT 54GL(Tomato firmware) . I see the following sample dialplan come with FreeSWITCH default.xml <extension name="rtp_multicast_page"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^*pagegroup* $|^7243$"> <action application="answer"/> <action application="esf_page_group"/> </condition> </extension> What is the *pagegroup *variable referring to? Thanks Lloyd
Let me say it again... esf_page_group is for snom and linksys multicast paging... I wasn't aware the aastra did this. /b On Mar 23, 2010, at 1:05 PM, Aloysius Lloyd wrote:

Thanks. BTW where is the *pagegroup *variable defined for the rtp_multicast_page Also i find the following from the web *Multicasting begin to be supported at all major phones manufacturers, Aastra firmware v2.2, Snom v7, Linksys,... allow the setting of a multicast listening address. This will permit to reduce the generated trafic for an extensive paging.* Lloyd On Tue, Mar 23, 2010 at 2:25 PM, Brian West <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:

Hi Lloyd, in the Aastra phone you may set up to receive the multicast paging by "Group Paging RTP Settings " under "preferences", just put multicast IP address and port, then you can do multicast paging, however if I am understanding correctly it only working in LAN environment, I don't think you can forward multicast traffic through internet unless you sign up the multicast services. Chris & Brian, Thanks. I finally manged the paging working for AASTRA phones. This is modified intercom dialplan with group_call <extension name="extension-paging"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^8000$"> <action application="set" data="dialed_extension=$1"/> <action application="export" data="sip_auto_answer=true"/> <action application="bridge" data="${group_call(pagegroup@ ${domain_name})}"/> </condition> </extension> I will try the multicast with a Cisco Router support GRE Lloyd On Tue, Mar 23, 2010 at 3:46 PM, Brian West <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:
