Cheers...
We seem to be experiencing problems with phones (so far only Grandstream GXP2000s) falling off the list of registered SIP clients.
I'm presuming that this is because they're failing to re-register within the previously agreed registration lifetime.
Any tips on debugging this would be useful, but I'm going to start by setting a very short timeout on the phone and watching to see what happens on the server.

A session timeout is normally a timeout on a phonecall of I remember correctly (offerde by fs on outgoing calls. It is negotiated). The registration lifetime is another One.

We're trying to understand SIP registration timeouts.

When we do a sofia status profile internal reg, one of the lines includes something like this:

Status Registered(UDP)(unknown) EXP(2013-04-22 17:22:00) EXPSECS(1796)

It seems that when a phone registers, it says how long Freeswitch should retain the registration for (in this case there's half an hour left).

What is the relationship between this mechanism and the one in config of the sip profile:

<param name="session-timeout" value="1800"/>

Or is this a totally different kind of session?
