We are working with mod_h323 since about 1 1/2 years in a H323/SIP gateway and we have no issues with it.
It's important to have the right combination of h323plus and ptlib libraries compiled.
We used h323plus (v1.22.0) and ptlib (v2_8_2).

With Opal, we did not get it compiled with Freeswitch at that time. This may have changed in the meantime.
