The versions of debian packages built from the packages are also incorrect - debian/changelog&#39;s last entry is 1.2~rc2-1.<br>

The advice in debian/README.source suggests adding a new changelog entry to set custom versions for builds from Git. For git versions that seems fine (after all we wouldn&#39;t want to have to update the file for every commit), but it seems that for every stable version release it would be better to set the version within the tarball&#39;s debian/changelog?<br>
