Okay...I think I found the problem...quite by accident, though.<div><br></div><div>I was compiling in a terminal that I had earlier executed &#39;ulimit -s 240&#39; in.  Apparently there wasn&#39;t enough stack to run the program!  Running with a different terminal works fine.  Sorry to generate useless chatter!</div>
