You don’t need 777 you do need the correct permissions. The web server user does need access to the FS data. Fusionpbx has a fix permission script too.

Sorry, for that ... Just in case anyone is interested, I had to change all FS Directory permissions to 777 prior to install FusionPBX, that's solved the issue (I know it's a bad habit, but that was a quick fix for me)
