Micheal,

Thank you for the references. I try to increase the threshold. So quiet means lower . I just leave the silence-threshold as 200. Then increase the hits to 10. That solve my issue.

<param name="record-silence-threshold" value="200"/>
<param name="record-silence-hits" value="10"/>

Thank you for the help

LLoyd

Yes, you can control this. The threshold value is described here:

Both of those link to the docs for the wait_for_silence dialplan tool, which discusses these values in more detail:

In a nutshell, if you lower the threshold value then that means the silence needs to be "quieter" to be considered "silence." So, for a soft-spoken voice you would want to lower the threshold. I would experiment with that. Note that if you set the threshold too low then no silence will ever be detected. As for the "hits" value, that just tweaks how much silence FS needs to detect before it assumes there is silence on the line. The higher the number of hits, the longer the silent period needs to be for FS to assume it is "silence."

Hello,

I have the voicemail issue. When someone  soft spoken leaves a message they get interrupted by the silence detection.

“to play this message press 1, to send this message press 2, to delete this message and try again …”

I found two options in voicemail.conf. None of them make any difference.

<param name="record-silence-threshold" value="200"/>
<param name="record-silence-hits" value="2"/>

Is there anyway to increase the threshold or time out.
