I disabled the DB writes.  I would say that it was hitting the DB at ~2 queries per second...  that is just an estimate, but over the course of 30 minutes the XID had got up to 4,000

I was kinda figuring that mod_callcenter was just running select statements....

I will need to test out mod_fifo

Is there anything to be done with mod_callcenter to correct this behavior short of rewriting the code?

If you can, try using mod_fifo instead of mod_callcenter. mod_callcenter
has a inner loop running very rapidly where it is constantly doing
select statements to the DB looking for new calls into the system.
