The phone isn't the issue, when I push the * I receive a message from freeswitch about mute-on/mute-off. I tried to make current however I get a compile error with the current version see below, this is compiling on Mac OS-X 10.6.2 older version of freeswitch did compile fine.

Or, in other words, go to your FreeSWITCH source directory and type "make current" and then go get a cup of coffee. When it is done restart FreeSWITCH and test again...
