They are nice.. for personal stuff. But if you want several channels.. or if it's for business usage - it may be against the TOS and more importantly, since you're not paying it's *out of your control*. 
e.g. whistle started charging for "long" calls as per http://whistlephone.com/naywa/

Often, full price is the cheapest prices...
