Well I’m new to FS so probably go with the static dialplan approach.  Not to familiar with the db/hash, but that might work.  Any suggestions how to write that into the dialplan?

Are you using static XML dialplan stuff? Possibly you could use the mod_limit or db/hash stuff to store the state of the auto attendant and then have an extension that toggles it? Just throwing ideas out...
