I am sorry if this message seems intrusive, but have you tried the Khomp hardware? They have their own SS7 stack that does not require extra licensing and that works with FreeSWITCH. I am not sure up to what extent either but might be worth a shot asking. If you are in the US, that's also a no go since they don't support T1, only E1.

btw, I work with Khomp and I can get you this information if it is within your interest.

It does require using a different stack and there is no charge for it.
you just can use FreeTDM by itself and configure it with the new SS7
functionality.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's any docs or assurances of
functionality when using the new SS7 functionality in FreeTDM with
ss7boxd. I'd love to hear otherwise. If they are interoperable,
Sangoma has neglected to offer this as a solution to us in many
conversations, instead focusing on upselling us to Trillium. This is
why I'm not thinking they are compatible (I currently choose to believe
that over the alternative).

If you really want to keep mgd, you can use FreeTDM with the boost
protocol (not really supported or current but out there) so FS would
take the place of the boost.

The last I looked, boost support had been pulled from git. This is what
I was referring to in my reply to Moy.

Cliff
