Get a pcap of the working caller ID setup on your Asterisk box and then another pcap of the non-working setup on your FS box. Find out which field the provider is using. Evidently they are doing something really stupid because all of the methods that have been enumerated on this list have been tested here on planet earth. :)

Here's some tips in case you need to get started with packet captures. Also, Wireshark is handy for analyzing pcaps from tcpdump:

The outgoing caller id don’t work.

I try many different fields/variables and also analyze your web link about the Channel Variables.

The outgoing id works for internal calls.

But for external calls don’t worked.

My provider support the outgoing caller id.

Here  my example from Asterisk. That works.

exten => _00XX.,1,Set(CALLERID(num)=00492222222)

exten => _00XX.,n,Set(CALLERID(name)=00492222222)

….

The variables caller_id_name  ande caller_id_number  are read only.

Can we open it so I can write into the fields, because with effective_caller_id_name and number don’t work it.

Origination_caller…… are the same.

Hmmm… I don’t understand where is my failure.

Kind regards

Erkan

Some providers have different ways of handling this. Using "effective_caller_id_number" and name are the usual ways of doing it. However some providers pick up the caller ID from a different field. Try experimenting with this:

http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Channel_Variables#sip_cid_type

Perhaps a bridge line like this would work:

  <action application="bridge" data="{sip_cid_type=rpid}sofia/gateway/voicetrading.com/00000$1"/>

OR

  <action application="bridge" data="{sip_cid_type=pid}sofia/gateway/voicetrading.com/00000$1"/>

Please try it and let us know what happens.

Hi all,

I worked since 2 years with asterisk. But now I must use the Windows Platform.

So I found Freeswitch.

The first works with Freeswitch are very good, but I can’t set the outgoing caller id.

The outgoing caller id is shown at the phone on the end of the line.

I try some different variables but without result. My voip provider support to set the callerid, in asterisk it works.

  <action application="bridge" data="sofia/gateway/voicetrading.com/00000$1"/>

….

<include>

  <context name="default">

   <extension name="voicetrading.com">

     <condition field="destination_number" expression="^00(\d+)$">

         <action application="set" data="effective_caller_id_name=009012345678"/>

         <action application="set" data="effective_caller_id_number=009012345678"/>

         <action application="set" data="outbound_caller_id_name=009012345678"/>

         <action application="set" data="outbound_caller_id_number=009012345678"/>

         <action application="bridge" data="sofia/gateway/voicetrading.com/00000$1"/>

     </condition>

   </extension>

….

Can anyone give me a idea for what can I do.

Kind regards

Erkan Unlu
