Tip #1 Centos5 really old update to a newer operating system. (I highly recomment Debian! This is where most of the FS Devs are heading.)
Tip #2 If you must remain on Centos, Brian West posted this little trick to the mailing list the other day
If you’re using CentOS 5.x you MUST be on 5.10 64bit, 32bit is broken,
wget -o Makefile http://bkw.org/Makefile
make deps
This works on both the 1.4 and Master branch.
