[Freeswitch-docs] Lua - session:waitForAnswer
Does anyone know if `session:waitForAnswer` is deprecated? I haven't been able to get it to do the same thing as `session:execute("wait_for_answer")`
That should work, its in the switch_cpp.cpp, What do you mean same thing? There are differences in execute vs a native call. Thanks, /b On Wed, Jan 17, 2018 at 3:28 PM, Ryan Harris <ryharris@airmail.cc> wrote:

It's a weird way of saying that I doubt they do the same thing :). I'll take a closer look at switch_cpp and where it's used in switch_ivr_originate.c and switch_ivr_bridge.c
If you use execute, callbacks won't work. So if you do execute playback vs streamFile, the DTMF callbacks just can't work. Thats why the native method is different but the end results and functionality should be the same with the exception of the callbacks. /b On Wed, Jan 17, 2018 at 4:59 PM, Ryan Harris <ryharris@airmail.cc> wrote:

So since dptools wait_for_answer is blocking, it just needs to wait for the channel state to change, right? switch_ivr_wait_for_answer seems /a lot/ more involved, so that's what I'm going to study.
