[Freeswitch-docs] expand vs code macro
A data point that I've observed: the code macro automatically treats its contents as "preformatted text" so all whitespace and newlines are preserved. The expand macro just formats text inside the macro the same outside the macro container. Confluence is weird about newline formatting. It hides markup which can be erased by putting the cursor at the start of a line, then hitting Backspace. It also treats newlines oddly when pasted in from other sources, which is what I suspect happened to Mario. I have not determined a reliable workaround yet. Bote

As I said use expand elsewhere. I am talking about a new bug I found pasting text into the expand which should work the same a code but does not: I said If I paste the code into the “code” macro
it works but the page is massive long. When I paste the exact same clipboard into “expand” it has no newlines so the code is jammed
together.
So something wrong about how expand handles newlines vs the code macro. I had to play in MS word to get it to work but that is not good since I don’t want to go through hoops every time I update.
Logging out/in did not give me attach. Even with expand my text file is 638 lines long. Mario

Also, in case your browser remembers your login session, you should log out, then log in again to pick up the additional group permissions that William assigned yesterday. I just did and noticed a metric buttload more menu options available.

Forgot to mention.. Another BUG in Confluence…. I use the expand macro in places but cannot here: If I paste the code into the “code” macro it works but the page is massive long. When I paste the exact same clipboard into “expand” it has no newlines so the code is jammed together. I tried various things. Since the file is big attaching it made the most sense. But “attach” is not an option in tools…. Any ideas? Mario

I am working on the Applescript page today (see my space), my plan was to attach the script as a file since it is a couple of hundred lines and will get longer as I add update capability. I wanted the viewer to simply click download. But I see I do not have the ability to attach files. Is this by design? If so I need to know how I can attach a large file to a page that I can replace//update as needed.
Please let me know soon as I am stuck with this page and need to know how to handle this. Thanks, Mario
