[Freeswitch-docs] Code contains links to wiki
Hello All, Please ensure you CC me if you reply. I'm not subscribed to the list. I have noticed that /usr/local/src/freeswitch and /usr/local/freeswitch contain many URLs to wiki.freeswitch.org Here's a small sample: conf/autoload_configs/nibblebill.conf.xml:3: <!-- See http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_nibblebill for help with these options --> conf/autoload_configs/tts_commandline.conf.xml:11: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_tts_commandline#Example_commands conf/autoload_configs/conference.conf.xml:1:<!-- http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_conference --> conf/dialplan/features.xml:1:<!-- http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Dialplan_XML --> conf/dialplan/default.xml:12:<!-- http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Dialplan_XML --> conf/dialplan/public.xml:12:<!-- http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Dialplan_XML --> In this example, the full path would be: /usr/local/src/freeswitch/ Is this intentional? When you go to the links, you're informed the wiki is locked. I'm following version: FreeSWITCH version: 1.5.15b+git~20150421T235828Z~a4d877c189~32bit (git a4d877c 2015-04-21 23:58:28Z 32bit) Thanks! -- ------- inum: 883510009027723 sip: jungleboogie@sip2sip.info xmpp: jungle-boogie@jit.si
This is true. I have noticed that, but I suggest we wait until the core developers complete this huge push to add video capabilities to FreeSWITCH. I think it should be as simple as modifying the config files and submitting a pull request, but I've never done that so not sure. I'll leave that to others to describe the best way to incorporate the changes. Thanks. Bote

Check confluence for the doing a pull request ;) Its very straight forward and that is what anyone on the docs team can do for when in code docs needs to be updated. This will trigger us to look it over. No Need to wait for the video push to get done, we can merge those changes pretty much at any time. I see there was a couple posts on this so I've joined the list. Before I pull anything, I'm going to try matching up the wiki to the new Confluence articles, but that may mean the Confluence pages need updating, too. For instance: wiki: https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Sofia_Configuration_Files confluence: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Sofia+SIP+Stack On confluence, it shows: Configuration Files sofia.conf.xml contains the configuration settings for mod_sofia See Sofia Configuration Files. So do you want the xml to say go to confluence and for confluence then to say go to wiki, or should wiki pages be migrated to confluence?
I'm following version: FreeSWITCH version: 1.5.15b+git~20150421T235828Z~a4d877c189~32bit (git a4d877c 2015-04-21 23:58:28Z 32bit)

the wiki is going away and being replaced by confluence so the answer is always going to be the information should be migrated to confluence. If they should be separate pages or combined into less pages on confluence depends, in general I'm not sure Sofia needs multiple pages. Dear Mr. Boogie0: Confluence is a work in progress. Migrating the old wiki to Confluence is a major task (and major pain in the butt). I guess start here: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Move+Tracker Pages might have been renamed on Confluence, combined into one page, split into multiple pages, or just plain marked Deleted since they are no longer needed. The search feature is pretty decent on Confluence, so it wouldn't be bad if you just put the top level Confluence home page in there. https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/ Thanks. Ahh! I see the problem. I wasn't aware that Usage: text was directing people to the wiki, such as the TGML instructions. In that case the Move Tracker spreadsheet is essential since it provides the mapping between old wiki pages and their new Confluence counterparts. Here's the link to Areski's move tracker spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qsG-kRymvKlNBapnBLw86W130VdbnK6naYap... It is world-readable. I'm not sure if you mean that you can't see the Confluence link or the spreadsheet, but you will definitely need to see all that stuff to figure out what pages are where :-) Bote

Yes, the code contains links to the wiki when it should instead contain links to confluence pages.

Here's the link to Areski's move tracker spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qsG-kRymvKlNBapnBLw86W130VdbnK6naYap...
Excellent resource!

If someone can do a pull request to fix this I'll get it corrected asap On Saturday, April 25, 2015, jungle Boogie <jungleboogie0@gmail.com> wrote:

Well I'm not certain my links are 100% correct. I'll compare what I updated links to with what's on the spreadsheet. Also, some pages don't exist at confluence. Would you be fine with some at wiki.freeswitch.org and others at confluence? -- ------- inum: 883510009027723 sip: jungleboogie@sip2sip.info xmpp: jungle-boogie@jit.si
The wiki pages that have not yet been moved to confluence need to be moved to confluence. Obviously we shouldn't change things to point to confluence pages that don't yet exist. On Saturday, April 25, 2015, jungle Boogie <jungleboogie0@gmail.com> wrote:
