I frequently find dead wood, but I don’t have enough institutional knowledge to know whether it should be culled out or not.
The sip_ to rtp_ thing can be handled with a careful grep, at least.
With unlimited time and staff it would be ideal to write the docs for 1.8 from scratch, borrowing heavily from existing docs as appropriate. It’s nice to dream.
