[Freeswitch-dev] Server having Freeswitch and two Sangoma cards and can't handle full capacity
We are having two (Sangoma) Voice Cards, one with 8-ports and other with 16-ports. I have integrated ESL library with java in INBOUND MODE and making outbound calls. The issue what we are facing are 1. When I use all 720 channels or more than 450 channels, we see the events processed by ESL is very slow and we are not getting the events properly from ESL after placing the calls, even after so many minutes, so we have to forcefully close the connection. 2. And I see error mod_event_socket.c:375 Lost 502 events! And the java app also crashes with error ESL connection timeout. 3. And I see segmentation_fault in Freeswitch and big dump file is written and which would crash the system, because of high CPU\IO. But if we reduce the channels say, 450 we don't see any issue at all. What could be the reason for this issue. Appreciate any Help... -- Regards Sambit +91-9916211211
Do you see the same problem if you write something small and hard-coded in c that uses libesl? That message about lost events typically only happens when the receiver can not process messages fast enough off the socket, and the queue fills up. This could be the fault of the java sockets, java esl library, or your code in java blocking while processing a message. Machine is having CPU - Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2609 0 @ 2.40GHz(8 core) RAM - 32GB HDD - 600 GB primary and other attached storage is there OS - Centos 6 Freeswitch version - 1.3.10b () After calls get connected, we play audio files and we have voice app flows configured. In the same machine only freeswitch is installed and JAVA application is there which connects to freeswitch to make calls. We are using ISDN calling on the machine. So how many max sessions can freeswitch handle in practically? The events from the ISDN network are processed very slower in the freeswitch. Sometimes the main Java app waits for the required event for any particular uuid, and gets other non required events from other uuids. We are filtering that, but after sometime we have to forcefully terminate that session because of non availability of event. This also leads to non-usage of full capacity. Hi Sambit - Can't help directly, but we have applications which also make an inbound connection to FS, run up to 100 calls/sec outbound over 2K+channels without any problems. The outbound calls are going over SIP (so no TDM cards), and the code's in C# with our own library to deal with the event socket stuff. So I guess that core FreeSWITCH isn't your problem..! Hi David, I am making outbound calls over ISDN using E1 and Sangoma voice media card. When all the channels are being used I am getting event socket time out error from freeswitch. Can you please tell me which version of freeswitch you are using? I have installed *freeswitch 1.3b* in the system. But using esl of 1.2 for making connection to freeswitch. And using JAVA code for all the call flow and socket event handling. Thanks. On Wed, Jul 30, 2014 at 10:12 PM, David Knell <david.knell@telng.com> wrote:

Start by updating to latest master when troubleshooting issues. The version you are using is like 2 years old and not a release version. On Fri, Sep 12, 2014 at 12:23 AM, Sambit Jaysingh <sambit.jaysingh@gmail.com

At the very least be on the latest from the 1.4 branch (the current stable - 1.2 is EOL and 1.3 was the development branch for 1.2 so is also EOL). On 12 September 2014 15:44, Anthony Minessale <anthony.minessale@gmail.com> wrote:
