[Freeswitch-dev] Weekly Wiki Cram Sessions proposal!
We are working on setting up a weekly or two time weekly hour long wiki cram session where we do documentation on the wiki about various features sets... Guess you could call it whack a mole for docs. The proposal is this: 1PM CST, Recorded session podcast for everyone to follow up with that couldn't make it. As we go along we can have everyone ask questions and we'll get answers to all the questions that can then be input into the wiki by people asking the questions and filling in the holes in the documentation. I feel that doing this is key. If you think this is a good idea please let me know... What days do you propose we do these calls on? You can also call me at the address below or via freenum at 1000*543 (its in the default config) The conferences would be held via SIP or PSTN http://conference.freeswitch.org EVERYONE is welcome even if you're not a developer because everyone can help out in one way or another and we welcome it. Brian West sip:brian@freeswitch.org PS: the time is not set in stone but anything close to that would be good.
Brian, I think this is a great idea. 1PM CST works for me, and the middle days of the week are best, as others have pointed out. Tu-W-Th are all good choices. For me personally, Thursday is the absolute best day because I'm frequently out of the office and have more flexibility in my schedule that day. Still, Tuesday or Wednesday would also be acceptable. -MC

I'd like to try one tomorrow. I don't know if I can stay on for two solid hours but I will give it my best shot. -MC

I scheduled it for 2 hours but for most of them they'll be 1 hour.. but that should give us some spare time. Can you pick 10-20 API's and Apps that we can go over and verify all the docs on the wiki... /b On Apr 29, 2008, at 1:43 PM, Michael Collins wrote:

I'll throw in a few... It seems there've been some recent threads about how to handle events via the event socket, so maybe we can go over this page: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Event_Socket Also, we're getting lots of emails on list where someone says, "I'm new to FS and I'm trying to get started. I've installed it with the default configs but now I'm trying to take the next step..." Invariably the questions that follow have to do with getting two SIP phones to register and talk to each other, how to handle NAT, how to get Gizmodo working, etc. I'd like to see a page with all of that stuff consolidated, like a "where to go from here" page for after you've got everything installed but you haven't started messing with the configs just yet. -MC
