Greetings for all ! By us has been developed, as FreeSWITCH module, module for connecting under protocol SS7 based on library libss7 Asterisk Open Source PBX. By first we have made this as separate module mod_ss7, but futher we plan to make it as a part of mod_openzap, like it has been done for ISDN. Our module provides levels MTP2 and MTP3 of SS7. Now we work over support of ISUP. If this line of development is of interest for You - we ready to give results and initial codes. Faithfully, Evgeniy.
libss7 is GPL and cannot be offered in combination with freeswitch. Am 10.10.2008 um 09:59 schrieb Evgeniy Zolotov:

Have you been in contact with the maintainers of that library? Perhaps you can ask them to provide a licensing exception for use with FreeSWITCH. As far as integrating it into OpenZAP: OpenZAP is BSD licensed and has loadable modules of it's own now so it would be possible to make it work with OpenZAP Since GPL and BSD are compatible and your resulting ozmod_ss7 would be a shared object loaded by libopenzap But there would be a licensing question with what happens when you in turn load mod_openzap which links OpenZAP to FreeSWITCH. Technically there is a layer of indirection present so I don't know what license purists would say but again maybe if you are on good terms with the maintainers you could ask for an exception. Either way I would be interested in hearing about your efforts. Drop by our IRC channels #openzap and #freeswitch on irc.freenode.net or drop me an email.
