Proxy media should NEVER be used. There is one exception to this rule, and that is when you are trying to pass codecs that freeswitch does not know about, and even that case has a better workaround than to use proxy media. If you are using proxy media you should stop, if you are not sure how to do so you should discuss on the mailing list.
