After extensive testing using decent SIP providers (with or without T38), we have much better success with spandsp than hylafax. We even have a better success rate compared to most combinations of ATA + physical fax machine we tested!!<BR>
<BR>
No tweaks needed, and using default values (use-ecm=true, disable-v17=false).<BR>
<BR>
Feature-wise it's not really comparable to a Hylafax solution, but with a few scripts to manage queues and such, you can build a very nice solution able to handle a huge fax volume!<BR>

Also, great looking project :) I'll take a look at it as well. I've been wanting to learn more about golang too. I've used Hylafax in the past but I haven't used it lately - I probably should take another look at that as well.

I had some success with disabling T.38 for received calls. If i see that negotiation failed multiple times or the fax aborts with errors during page transmission, I save the callerid and disable T.38 when the caller retries. Most cases that were not successful with T.38 worked fine with soft modem.
