<FONT FACE="Monaco, Courier New"><SPAN STYLE='font-size:11pt'>Why Debian? For me it was migrating to centos6 around 6.2 and getting just crappy performance and this continued on for quite a while... Moving to Debian6 and then on to Debian7 these problems have not manifested themselves... Mix this with the fact you can a modern kernel and versions of libraries from the system that arent ancient leads me to less headaches at night.<BR>

On the gcc question I am unsure... FreeSWITCH Already builds with clang on linux... <BR>
