The versions of debian packages built from the packages are also incorrect - debian/changelog's last entry is 1.2~rc2-1.<br>

The advice in debian/README.source suggests adding a new changelog entry to set custom versions for builds from Git. For git versions that seems fine (after all we wouldn't want to have to update the file for every commit), but it seems that for every stable version release it would be better to set the version within the tarball's debian/changelog?<br>
