Ok, I've figured it out. It turns out the problem was<br> <param name="ping-min" value="1"/><br><br>This was stopping the ping count dropping below 1, so it never reached 0 so never marked the gateway as down.<br>
<br>ping-min and ping-max aren't very well documented on the wiki. I can see what ping-max is for (determines the number of failed pings before the gateway is marked as down, so it doesn't matter is an occasional request fails), but what's the purpose of ping-min?<br>

Steve,<br><br>I am just curious. If you issue "sofia status gateway gw3" or "sofia status gateway gw4", do you see the Status as UP or DOWN.<br><br>I would have thought that the State should be either NOREG or REG, and Status should be either UP or DOWN, but somehow the log displayed as state.<br>
