</div>You did ask for the best way, which is to build packages for your operating<br>
system, then use your operating system's package manager to install them and<br>
keep track of different versions. This way, you can be sure that the right<br>
files are installed, that old versions are cleanly deleted (unless there's an<br>
error in the post-installation script, in which case it's a bug) and you can<br>
use the package manager to find out what files are installed and where they<br>
reside.<br>

You can then upgrade or downgrade simply by installing a different version of<br>
the package.<br>
<br>
FreeSWITCH supports building Debian packages, and there is also support for<br>
Centos and Fedora.<br>
