The answer is "it depends". HTT/SMT will increase your scheduling latency
and cause extra jitter. Plus make "os load" vs "real capacity" very
non-linear and hard to depend on for capacity planning purposes. Whether or
not that warrants potential 5-15% increase in max throughput depends on
your constraints. Measure carefully and proceed with caution.
