[Freeswitch-users] What is a register_attempt?

I see register_attempt before every registration, and I also see it before unregistration. I searched the web and can’t find anything on it.

Is it a FreeSwitch only thing?
It is being issued by the client or something internally generated by FreeSwitch?
Why would it be used before an unregistration?

It would be of help to know this, thanks!
