Commit IDs are a hash of that commit and all previous commits. If you do
that it changes every single commit hash since the broken commit. That then
breaks any tracking of commit IDs, eg Jira, commit logs, people's own notes
etc. It also breaks anyone else's checkouts, and every other checkout /
fork off FreeSWITCH in existence. The commit in question is from 2014, so
you'd be affecting 3 years of commits. It's just not worth the pain it
would cause just so you can fork onto github.
