SMS in NA is fairly locked down for small volume for outbound caller ID.
As mentioned by Steven you can port numbers in.  Flowroute's new API works
fairly well.  Nexmo also is a good SMS provider with another good API
(although low volume may make transferring in harder).
Outside of twillio I am not aware of MMS capable long code providers (and
remember group chats etc are MMS not SMS).
